The Hooky is an innovative, do it all and do it well aluminum frame for the person wanting flexibility when building up their own ride.  The Hooky can accommodate a 27.5 inch tire up to 3 inches wide or a 29 inch mountain bike tire up to 2.4 inches wide.  It is equipped with sliding rear dropouts so you can go with a traditional derailleur setup or quickly change it to a single speed.  By selecting the corresponding drop out inserts you can use a 135, 142, or 148 mm axle.

6061 Aluminum

Wheel Size:
29 (max width 2.4) or 27.5 (max width 3.0)

A calculated blend of All-Mountain and Trail that provides a solid platform to handle a day of carving, launching or twisting your way through the trees or just about anywhere.

Fork Options:
Choose between the OptOut Rigid 29 or 27.5, but if some squish is more your thing, the Hooky is optimized for 120mm of travel.

Switch\Back Compatibility:
Yes!  All sizes of the OptOut Switch\Back Dropout System will give you all the wheel options possible.  Single Speed to 12, 135mm, 142mm or Boost, Switch\Back is ready.

Seatpost Size:
31.6 posts and a trick Dropper Post cable exit by the bottom bracket give you the ability to lower that seat and head through the downhill twists with ease.

Our friends over at Cane Creek have the perfect headset bearing combo. Their part number is BA0533K - Check it out here.

Bottom Bracket:
73 mm English Threaded Bottom Bracket.  Mainly because we hated the maintenance and creaking of the BB30 just as much as you and the reliability can't be beat.

Derailleur Mount:
For those who like more gears, a standard 34.9mm braze-on adapter clamp will work great with the front derailleur of your choice.

Bottle Capacity:
Two bottles, both located on the down-tube, one on top and one on the underside.

Amazing Frame! The geometry is spot on for a modern trail bike. The handeling is neutral in the best way possible, great for most riders in most conditions. I appreciate the low top tube, and option for running 27.5+ or 29 wheels along with single speed or any axle combination - talk about options! As a mechanic I really appreciate the BSD threaded bottom bracket - no more creak and threaded bbs just feel more solid in general. My partner is hoping for a size small if another production run is made! Bottom line: this frame is an incredible value and its versitility and modern geometry should put a smile on anyone's face. Steve answered all of my questions and made getting the right frame and drop out package super easy. Do yourself a favor and OptOut!
